Galvanized steel means steel whose surface is coated with zinc. Compared with stainless, galvanized modular tanks are a more affordable option where hygiene is not the primary requirement — fire water, potable-adjacent utility storage (subject to lining), garden and greenhouse irrigation.

Galvanizing types on the market

  • Hot-dip galvanized — coating thickness typically 45–80 microns (preferred)
  • Pre-galvanized — typically 8–10 microns
  • Electro-galvanized — typically 3–6 microns (not recommended; thin coating fails quickly)

Desan Engineering does not produce electro-galvanized tanks. When specifying galvanized tanks, always confirm the galvanizing process and coating thickness.

Parameter Value
Material Galvanized steel modular panels
Preferred coating Hot-dip (45–80 µm typical)
Also available Pre-galvanized (8–10 µm)
Not offered Electro-galvanized
Typical uses Fire water, irrigation, utility storage
Construction Modular bolted sectional tank

Capacity is modular and project-specific. Share required volume, site layout, coating preference (hot-dip recommended) and whether an internal membrane/lining is needed.
